Our Story
One person, one workshop, one opal at a time.
Opal Magic is a young Australian business — just six months old — built on a genuine love of opals. I cut the stones myself and have every piece of jewellery hand crafted by a local jeweller, so what you receive is truly one of a kind.

What makes us different
Made by hand, honestly described
Hand-Cut by Me
Every opal is cut and shaped right here in my workshop. I work slowly and carefully to bring out the colour and character hidden inside each rough stone.
Hand Crafted by a Local Jeweller
Each piece of jewellery is hand crafted by a local jeweller, not mass-produced. That means the setting, the finish, and the final feel are all personal.
Every Opal Tells a Story
No two opals are the same. The flashes, patterns, and colours inside each stone have taken millions of years to form — and I let that story shine through.
Honest Descriptions
I clearly label every piece as a solid, doublet, or triplet so you know exactly what you are buying. No surprises, ever.
Understanding opals
Solids, doublets & triplets
I believe you should know exactly what you are buying. Here is a simple guide to the three types of opal you will find in my store.
Solid Opals
A single, natural piece of opal. These are the most valuable and show the stone exactly as nature made it — colour, pattern, and all.
Doublets
A thin slice of natural opal bonded to a dark backing. This brings out the colour beautifully and makes genuine opal more affordable.
Triplets
A thin slice of natural opal protected by a clear domed top, with a dark backing underneath. Great for everyday wear and strong value.
Every opal tells a story
Some stones glow with ocean blues, others flash with fire reds or quiet greens. When I cut an opal, I am not just shaping a gem — I am revealing a story that began millions of years ago under the Australian earth. That story continues when it becomes part of your life.
New, small, and learning every day
Opal Magic has only been running for six months, and I am learning as I grow. What will not change is the care I put into every stone, every setting, and every customer. Thank you for supporting a small Australian business at the very beginning of its journey.
